The Far North Branch of the Avicultural Society of NZ consists of members whose interests are keeping and breeding parrots, parakeets, lorikeets and finches. The membership extends from Whangarei north to Kaitaia.
They meet on a tri-monthly basis, usually a field trip to other members' aviaries to discuss breeding and care of birds in an aviary situation. They also hold an annual bird sale, where members are able to buy and sell birds. The branch also puts out a tri-monthly newsletter containing club news, and bird information and a section for advertising birds for sale or wanted.
The branch is always ready to welcome new members.
