I visited the new bridge spanning the river behind the old stone store in the Keri Keri basin yesterday and while I have no complaints about the bridge itself, (which by the way is great), it was very noticeable that there is no notice directing people walking along the foreshore on to the bridge itself. Thanks to Julie and Peter of Rangemore Llama Farm, Shirley Road in Kerikeri for an awesome visit. Erin aged two was staggered that the bird could talk and as for leading "Chocolate" the llama around the paddock, fantastic! Take your grandchildren nana's and poppa's. They will love it.

I have now made my 4th trip to Kerikeri. I just can't keep away from such a beautiful place.
I can relax and do as much or as little as I want and just watch the World go by.
The by-pass under construction on my last visit has made such a difference. The noticeable absence of traffic going down to the park and the river was so pleasing.
I will continue to return as often as I can.

This message is for Sarah Waha 15 May 2008. Sarah, my name is Glenda Jordan-Winitana. Your auntie Hazel(nee Waha) & husband Johnny Jackson were our neighbours in Wairakei Village many years ago. As a teenager I moved to Auckland to work soon after leavig school. I stayed with your grandparents. Johnny was a good friend to me in those days, and I will never forget his kindness. The last time I saw him (he was by this time married to Pat)in Papatoetoe in 1973. I was in the NZ Army then, and I met him and Pat up the main street. Last April I repatriated my late brother's body back to NZ. My brother Tim died in Sydney NSW. Jayanne came across to his funeral. She and Tim grew up together in Wairakei, and it was lovely to see her after so many years.The nature of things at the time, didn't allow us to spend much time talking, but she did tell me her mother and grandparents had passed away sometime ago, and Johnny's wife Pat also. I was sad to hear that.I do hope your Dad is okay, please remember me to him. Ka Kite Ano

Hello, hoping someone may help me locate Johnny Strongman-Waha who came from place near kerikeri and has family in that area. We both worked for a British Security company in 2005 in Saana Yemen where we were wounded. Last contact he was in Saudi & heading to NZ for R&R but as far as I know didnt get there. Would really like to make contact & thank him for his help in a convoy ambush(36 killed)

My husband & I were invited to an Exhibition of Joanna Upperton's wonderful ART at a gallery in our home town August 2006. We were enchanted by Joanna & her art & as we were planning a trip home to New Zealand this year, we kept her card so that we could look her up while there.
We did & if you haven't seen Joanna's art please do (her Studio is on the main road into town) you will not be disappointed - she shares her studio with an equally talented artist Monika Welch
I have to say we both fell in love with Kerikeri & hope to return to live there in the not too distant future.
We were in Kerikeri just 4 days before the floods & our hearts go out to those who lost homes & property at that time

Just returned from my 3rd trip to the beautiful township of Kerikeri since 2002.
It is always a delight to visit such a wonderful place in such a magnificent Country.
Without doubt I shall be hoping to return many more times.
I was amazed to see the construction of the new by-pass underway, but pleased that the Stone Store will at last be protected from the constant heavy traffic.

Upon your leaving and heading back to New Zealand)we went out for dinner with your family (you lived on Charlotte St.) I remember you gave me a pair of little blue pumps that were yours! I did have your address to keep in touch but lost it (as little kids would do). I've wondered about your whereabouts and how you have been doing. Hopefully all is well!! (p.s. this is from the kerikeri kite man timothy i am going two a kite festival in sahburton in february and will be flying two christchurch and them two sahburton and i will be on a kite cat thats a kite boat with my big kite and the festival is on the 4th off feb and will be back on the 8 of feb and i am with the nzka new zealand kite club and i will se peter lynn he is the best kite maker in the world and he makes buggys and big kites and i like my sport and its fun from tim i will miss ever one win i am a way . 11.1.2006 the end .

Reading about the problems with traffic in downtown. We spent three months there last year..I have a possible solution.. eliminate ALL parking on Kerikeri road..a couple of parking lots with perhaps an electric shuttle bus to downtown business and you don't have the problem of cars pulling out of parking spots and slowing traffic..you could also build a pedestrain bridge over kerikeri road..would cost a lot less than re-routing traffic thru residential areas..

Leighia, oh my goodness!
We went to King Edward together, and were in the same grade/class. I remember spending time together at school and after. Upon your leaving and heading back to New Zealand)we went out for dinner with your family (you lived on Charlotte St.) I remember you gave me a pair of little blue pumps that were yours! I did have your address to keep in touch but lost it (as little kids would do). I've wondered about your whereabouts and how you have been doing. Hopefully all is well!!
(p.s. I still have a picture (somewhere!!??) that my Mom took of us before you left. Every now and then I'd run across it so maybe that's how I remember you so well).

So far I know the name of the man I am looking is Mr Lewis but am unsure of his last name which could "Nikora" or "Nekora" or it could be something else. He is living with his partner somewhere in beautiful Kerikeri but I have been still unfortunate to find him. If anyone could help me that would be wonderful.
